How to play
Grounded in Takenoko: Chibis's rulebook — cite-checked answers, not guesses.
Get a straight answer with the exact rulebook passage to back it up.
The easy-to-forget bits, straight from the rulebook.
Panda Babies VP
A player earns 2 Victory Points at the end of the game for each Panda Babies token in their possession.
Miss Panda in play
Miss Panda is not in play at the beginning of the game; she appears when a player places one of the new Plots (with the [PANDA BABY ICON] symbol) into play.
Panda Babies limit
There are 3 Panda Babies tokens of each color, and once the last token of a color is taken, players cannot make a Baby of that color for the rest of the game.
Diversity variant
At the end of the game, each set of different Objectives categories (Plots / Gardener / Panda) earns 3 additional points.
Panda Objectives completion
To complete Panda objectives, players must have the indicated bamboo sections in their "eaten bamboo reserve" and then return them to the reserve when the Panda is on the Pond tile.
Gardener's Cabin draw
When the Gardener stops on the Gardener's Cabin plot, the player can immediately draw the first card from each Objective deck, keep one, and return the others to the bottom of their respective decks.
To set up the game: * Shuffle the 6 new Plot tiles from the Chibis expansion with the Plot tiles from your Takenoko base game. * Shuffle the new Objective cards from the Chibis expansion with the Objective cards from your Takenoko base game, categorizing them by the color on their back. * Place the Panda Babies tokens and the Miss Panda figurine near the players. * Note that Miss Panda is not placed on the board at the beginning of the game; she enters play later when a new Plot with the [PANDA BABY ICON] symbol is placed.
I couldn't find a general list of actions a player can take on their turn in the provided rulebook (Takenoko: Chibis). The passages describe specific effects related to certain plots and characters: * When the **Gardener** stops on a Gardener's Cabin plot, the player can draw three Objective cards and keep one. * When the **Gardener** stops on a Sacred Hill plot, bamboo grows on all irrigated plots of the same color. * When **Miss Panda** ends her movement on a plot, and meets the **Panda**, the player can return a bamboo section to the reserve to gain a Panda Baby token. * When the **Gardener** is moved to a Kamis Garden plot, three bamboo colors grow, and a bamboo section is added to adjacent irrigated plots. It does not specify the broader range of actions available during a turn. Please try rephrasing your question, perhaps focusing on "Gardener movement," "Miss Panda movement," "plot effects," or "objective cards."
The provided rules from *Takenoko: Chibis* describe several ways to earn points: * You earn 2 Victory Points for each Panda Babies token you possess at the end of the game. * If playing with the "Diversity" variant, you earn 3 additional points for each set of different Objective categories (Plots, Gardener, Panda) at the end of the game. * Passages and describe how to complete "Plots" and "Panda" objectives, which typically award victory points, but the specific point values for completing these objectives are not detailed in these passages. However, the provided rule passages do not explicitly state the overall win condition for the game (e.g., "The player with the most victory points wins").
Rules summaries are AI-generated from the official rulebook and may contain mistakes — check the manual for anything critical.
Scoring in Takenoko: Chibis works in the following ways: * Players earn 2 Victory Points ([VP]) at the end of the game for each Panda Babies token they possess. * If using the "Diversity" variant, at the end of the game, each set of different Objective categories (Plots, Gardener, Panda) earns 3 additional points. The rulebook also describes how to complete certain objectives, but does not specify how many points those completed objectives are worth.
I couldn't find information on how and when the game ends in the loaded rulebook(s) (Takenoko: Chibis). The provided passages only discuss scoring that occurs "At the end of the game", but do not specify what triggers the end of the game itself.
